
This year’s program includes special appearances and events including a magician, a storyteller and — you’ve been waiting all these years — the return of The Snake Man with Penelope the Python. Meanwhile, kids will be invited to enroll in the Summer Reading Club, earning small awards and prizes as they pile up reading accomplishments. The fun begins on June 12 and runs through the end of July. Weekly events at the Asheboro library include:
• Film time, 10 a.m. Tuesdays;
• School age storytime, 3:15 Tuesdays;
• All-ages storytime, 7 p.m. Tuesdays;
• School-age programs featuring various exciting presenters, 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays;
• Toddler storytime, 10:10 a.m. Thursdays; and
• Pre-school storytime, 10:30 a.m. Thursdays.
Similar events take place at all the libraries; check with your local library for details.
