Friends of the Library Cake-Off Entry Form

The Friends of the Library Cake-Off will be held at the Asheboro Library on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 7:00PM. In addition to the announcement of the Cake-Off winners, Sheri Castle, famous chef, cookbook author and humorous storyteller will entertain the attendees.

Cash prizes will be awarded as follows:

$100 for Grand Prize Winner

$75 for First Place Winner

$50 for Second Place Winner

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING A CAKE FOR JUDGING

1. This completed entry form must be submitted by November 6, 2019. Forms should be dropped at the circulation desk of the Asheboro Library.

2. The competition is open to home bakers only and the first 10 entries will be accepted. Those submitting entries will be notified by November 8 of their acceptance/non-acceptance.

3. Accepted entries should bring their full-sized cake to the Asheboro Library between 2:00 and 3:00PM on November 13.

4. Each cake must be accompanied by the full recipe (preferably typed) listing all ingredients with measurements, instructions and baking times.

5. The recipes for the winning entries may be publicized via news media.

6. Judging of the 10 entered cakes will be done in closed session between 4:00-5:00PM by three local bakers and results announced at the 7:00pm event with Sheri Castle on November 13.

7. Judging will be based on taste, appearance and ease of preparation.

8. Attendees at the 7:00PM event featuring Sheri Castle will be able to sample each of the 10 cakes in the competition.
